Subject: . . . when choices on my "Favorites" below were
written.
Date: Mon. Aug 25 2003
From: Marlene Campbell (Costa)
It was a dark and windy night . . .when the choices on my "Favorites"
below were written. My oldest child's (who is a man now and made
me a grandmother last year)favorite sport is golf, I checked snowboarding
because it was the next closest thing. And my favorite ice cream?
Heath Bar Crunch, or anything with loads of caramel. Come on Brad,
love the web site, but those choices....Superior had more flavors
of ice cream than that!
I missed the class reunion, bummer. I heard about it via an e-mail
through Classmates.com, responded and never got a confirmation as
to place and time... maybe that was a hint. If I'm still on the
planet I vow to come to the next one.
I'm permanently single, with 3 children, Aram 24-married for 3 years
with a daughter, Katie (my pride and joy granddaughter), John 23,
single and in school, Beth 15, a cheerleader at Modesto Christian
and just got her permit to drive.. I love it when that happens,
being chaffeured is second only to having my feet rubbed on my list
of favorite things to have done for me.
I don't get to Hanford much at all. Maybe once every couple of years,
my brother has a business there and I go and visit occassionally.
One of my other brothers' teaches at Mt Whitney in Visalia and my
best friend lives in Tulare. So I do get to that end of the Valley
regularly, but it's usually for a family function or on the way
to a trip.
I am self-employed, very involved in my church (who'd a thunk)my
kids and my community. I've lived in Modesto longer than I've ever
lived anywhere in my life, 12 years. It's kind of cool. There are
some HUHS alumni up here from Class of '77 that I do some business
with.. which was really wild since I didn't know they were employed
at these places when I got the accounts, kind of fun though.
Well, this is getting long. If you want the "novella",
write me. I'm pretty good about responding. Yes, it's been an interesting
life, but isn't everyones? I'll answer most any question, most of
the rumors are true... kidding. Some of it might be though.
I saw a photo of the reunion and saw Brad Rose in one of the photos....
All I can say to that is "snake and eggs".... I saw Theresa
White's address on this site, but the e-mail didn't work, that was
disappointing, I wondered how "Greta" was doing.
And Keith Meeks....I'd have recognized you anywhere. Nice you stayed
in town and became a "respectable" insurance agent. Funny
how things come back to you when you start thinking about it. Today
was probably a sad day for you Keith, I remember how much you loved
the Giants and Bobby Bonds.
I hope to hear from some of you out in HUHS Class of '78 land....there
are definitely people I wonder about. We'll see maybe you're out
there after all. Time will tell.
Be Blessed,
Marlene

Subject: Wow!

Brad, Wow! What a beautiful family, and Mia sure is
a cutie! I sure wish my kids got along as well as yours appear to!
As for the gray hair.....I was rather surprised as I remember you
with TONS of dark hair! I noticed that I'm getting rather gray as
well, but I lucked out in the fact that my natural color is light
enough to hide it to some degree. LOL
Thanks for keeping us up to date with this website; I've reconnected
with several old friends via this site. I'm sure it's a lot of work
to keep up with, but it sure is appreciated, thanks again!

WHAT A GREAT TIME WE ALL HAD AT THE REUNION.... I can't believe it
has come and gone. Everyone looked like they were having a good time.
Mike and I had a blast visiting and catching up with friends. Brad...
thank you for MCing the event. And to my planning pals Robin Mattos,
Teresa Morisson and Trisha Hillman - we had a great time bringing
it all together and making it a success. I look forward to planning
the 30th.
